"Perdoa-me por me Traíres" was written by Nelson Rodrigues in 1957. The play, defined as a tragedy of manners, shocked the city of Rio de Janeiro at the time for bringing up issues such as abortion, infidelity and underage prostitution. It tells the story of Glorinha, a 15-year-old middle-class girl, raised by her uncle Raul, who is taken by a friend to a luxurious whorehouse. The densely woven staging leads the audience into a "dreadful flow of conscience".

Cia Luna Lunera is composed by actors who graduated from Clóvis Salgado Foundation's Artistic Education Center. In 2000, year in which it was created, the group also performed "Fuleirices em Fuleiró", its debut play, written by Mário Farias Brasini and directed by Marcos Vogel. "Perdoa-me por me Traíres" received the Sesc-Sated/2000 awards for best direction, costumes and set design (Kalluh Araújo), best actor (Cláudio Dias), best actress (Maria Alice Rodrigues), best supporting actress (Cláudia Corrêa), best light design (Telma Fernandes) and best play of the year.
